Re: Honwave pins
Just done the exact same thing! URGH. Managed to improvise getting back out with 2no tent pins... will order the bar and make some but are there any decent off the shelf solutions out there (other than something like an M6 bolt with wing nut) - only reason I ask is that I was hoping to get back out on the boat this Friday. Re: Honwave pins
I made some new ones from brass just yesterday. I needed some that would be softer than the legs so that they would deform instead of the expensive legs.
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Re: Honwave pins
I was talking to Chris P about this the other day and advised drilling the holes round again and making larger pins, but my theory would also include strengthening the mounts and legs with sleeves.
Sleeve the legs internally and sleeve the mounts externally.

Re: Honwave pins
Do you think my temporary solution of an m6 bolt with wingnut and rubber washer is a bad idea?

Re: Honwave pins
When I bought my 2nd hand T38 it came with an M6 bolt in one of the legs so it works
I ran it like that for months. My bolt was drilled at the bottom for an R-clip to facilitate rapid removal. Easier than trying to unscrew a nut while leaning off the back of a drifting boat in a bit of swell.
I've since replaced mine with newer wheels of dubious quality...
I have zero fabrication skills to put that into practice...

I like this line of thinking, but on my original legs the tubular steel wasn't the weak point, but rather the sleeves exerted enough force to bend the back plates against the transom. So maybe some triangular bracing welded on like this. Well, maybe a couple offset at 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock to allow access to the pin hole, but you get the idea.
