Lake Bala, Wales

I'm going away to Wales for a few days at the end of August, we're staying at a place called Glanllyn Lakeside Camping Park which is on the edge of Lake Bala. My Step-Dad is taking his hobby sailing kayak but I was wondering if anyone has been and taken their RIB? I'd love to explore the lake but I've read information stating it's just for sailing, can anyone confirm this? Or does anyone know of any other lakes that allow motorboats that are fairly local?

I had a quick look at the website and it does look like your assumption is correct.. That's a shame, i might have tyried that place myself with the caravan and frib combo.
Whenever i do Wales now, I go to greenacres.. Blackrock is a long beach but launching is easy enough.
Park and launch all day for £15 ish.

Went to Bala as part of a long weeks exercise when I was in the mob, horrible place, nearly drowned kayaking, pished with rain for 24rs a day every day, blew a gale constantly, forced march up several hills in horizontal sleet, camping in bogs (the soggy ground variety not toilets) and the locals were so friendly ....not.... switching to Welsh so we couldn't understand them slagging us off, great place !!
