Re: Mastercraft x2
My rudder has side to side play from a worn seal. The engine/ transmission mounts are out of alignment causing the prop shaft to be extremely hard to spin by hand when in neutral. Needs another battery. One of my ballast pumps needs replaced too. My biggest problem though is the sun pad over the engine is rubbing on the throttle body injector every time someone stands on it. That engine sticks up to high and mastercraft did a piss poor job of trying to make it work. Im going to have to custom build a new deck that is raised up becuase you have to stand on the deck to get to the back of the boat to wakeboard or surf or even just an area to relax on.

Regarding your comments about the engine/transmission mounts and this cowling making contact with this connector/engine ..... has the motor twisted out of line in their mounts under torque/load = twist
Most engine/trans brackets are elongated, therefore unless the motor/trans mountings are seated/positioned correctly under their 'dead weight' with the bolts/nuts VERY tight, even thread-locked, they could have moved
Worth investigation

Re: Mastercraft x2
No the engine definately sticks up taller than the support braces that hold the sunpad. That is why they installed a pan. Every boat like mine from the same year that I have seen online has the same indentions as mine. Just a crappy design. I will rebuild it with plastic 3/4" starboard and scrap the plastic pan and build something with much higher clearance and strong enough to support my buddy big Mike (325 pounds). What sucks is I will have to find an upholstery guy too after it's built to recover the pad. This is first world problems at its finest.

Re: Mastercraft x2
Is there also a way of adding a support post? Along with strengthening the pan, can you put in a metal or wood pole that is mounted to the hull and reaches up and supports the cover?
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

Re: Mastercraft x2
Not good news buddy.
With your mention of the prop, It does sound like a misalignment of some variety. The prop should rotate freely unlike your description.
Could all the engine mounts be weak and ripping apart. -allowing the engines to twist and settle on another more solid point?
When I say all,I mean all the boats, not all your mountings.
Have you tried lifting/barring/pulling the engine ?
Perhaps with the motor running and A good old throttle blip might show just how much twitch you have through throttle control.
The only reason we mention such is we've seen many poor designs of engine/gearbox mountings over the years that just aren't able to cope with the pure thrust/torque of the unit they're attempting to retain.

Prop strut is bent. I'm waiting on a tool that I bought to pull the propshaft. Boat is still usuable for now. Also have a buddy welding me up a cross support bracket for my sunpad.
