F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
Hello fellow F-Ribbers,
Has anyone else had an issue with the wheel fitting?...in that they don't fit in the up position without either the wheels impeding the outboards full movement or clear of this, they stretch the angled PVC piece attached to the top of the transom.
I'm assuming others have....what is the solution?
a. Ignore the stretched piece of PVC
b. Remove the launch wheels when on the water
Any photos of fitting location would also be highly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Hamish

Re: F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
Another pointer from anyone that can help.....transducer positioning? I am I best mounting it behind as flat a bit of the keel as possible (which unfortunately is nearer the outboard) or does it not matter so much as long as it's just below the bottom of the keel and sitting vertical (further away from outboard)?
Thanks again guys!
Thanks again guys!

Re: F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
I just put them up against the PVC. I'm not worried if it stretches the PVC a little as they don't do anything on my boat. Plus is keep the vibration/rattling down.
I've not noticed any stretching of PVC

Yes mate I did experience a few issues fitting the wheels as the F-Rib ones were not available at that time but managed to get some near identical ones and did a thread here http://www.f-ribsandsibs.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=234
and mentioned that position is dependant on the OB you are using.
With my brackets mounted at their lowest position the tyres still push a wee bit onto the PVC webbing but after 14 months of use every month it's not been an issue.
Which brackets and wheels do you have
any photos to identify them please
Transducer mounting wise I've utilised the transom wheels bracket to locate it. I ditched the pivot bolt for a drop pin like this Heated a piece of plastic to form an 'L' shape, drilled it so it'll slide over the pin and lug like this....works great and takes seconds to remove/refit Come back if you want more info

Re: F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
I had a set of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INFLATABLE-CU ... SwB4NWxZup Launch wheels. I had to fit a spacer because I didn't take into account the weight of the outboard when originally positioning them.
As for a transom mount for a transducer, have a look at how Gurnards done his on the Guppy. Basically just a piece of wood with the tranducer bracket screwed on and held to the transom with a "G" clamp. That's how I've done mine as well.

Re: F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
Cheers for the feedback and links guys!
The wheels I've got came with the boat, these don't pivot as such, but detach from the bracket between up and down position. I'll do the same and fit with the wheels against the PVC.
Re. The transducer fitting. I hadn't thought about quick release....which makes sense! I'll post photos when done : )
Thanks again,
Hamish

Re: F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
All drilled and loosely fitted need to get marine grade sealant in the morning. My transducer fortunately has an M5 cap screw for fitting it to the bracket, so won't be a major hassle, fitting and removing it when setting and packing up! Plus a sneak preview of my homemade motor trolley for getting it in and out of my L200.

Looking good mate
.....I know your pain when it comes to getting the best overall mounting position for the transom wheel bracket prior to drilling
and it looks like you've located them in the same place as mine to minimise the stretch on the PVC webbing and getting the clearance for the OB to achieve full lock....I've the 20hp Tohatsu which is identical in size as your 15hp, so I know how tight this measurement is

Liking your OB trolley
I've gone the trailered route
coz this 58 yr old short arsed weakling really struggled to lift the OB and boat in and out of my Navara ......the 1M lift up onto the tailgate just killed me and my on-going back injury
It's coming together nicely and I'm sure you're going to be over the moon with your setup

Re: F-RIB 360 launching wheels fitting??
Cheers Paul,
Yes there's a fair weight in them, with the barrow I can get it in and out the pick up with ease, not yet tried it with the boat, hopefully fit! How long have you had yours 20hp?
Hopefully get it all tested on the water very soon!
Hamish.
