Bravo pump & Adapter

Post by James » 03 Aug 2015, 08:29

Hi

I have a bravo pump which I use on the SIB.
I pinched an adapter off the foot pump which isn't ideal. Anyway it didn't fit tight and now has a crack in it.

Can anyone show me an adapter on ebay / amazon that would work with my pump.

I did buy one of these

But if you look at the end of the tube, the adpater doesn't fit on

Do you guys cut the plastic part off the end of the Bravo pipe and then slip the adapter in and tighten with a jubilee clip?

Thanks

James

Yes, take a sharp knife a break the glue holding the push fit end in. then remove and push in your new twist fit one. then use a marine stainless jubilee clip to tighten.

That adapter looks like mine. If I was to buy again I'd buy the one that Paul has which has two plastic coloured spacers in. This style http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Halkey-Robert ... 1246603067 The cork one works but leaks slightly unless held in, plus the cork will degrade over time.

Yup, Myself and Paul have the one Phil mentioned., They come with different coloured/sized spacers to fit the majority of valves out there.
You'll find a little adjuster screw inside that settles on the valve to open it up on insertion, Mine was at full adjustment when it arrived. Just giving you heads up to check it before tring to use it, as the bend very easily .

I use the same pump but have no issues with the fittings. I have bought two different adapters for two boats, they simply push into the hose union on my pump.
There are two different hose types supplied with Bravo, mine is the black hose which is a perfect fit for these adapters but I do recall on my old Bravo some 5 or 6 years ago, it was a yellow hose which had to be cut in order to fit the adapter. In fact as I recall, I connected the manual pump hose to the Bravo hose to create an extra long hose which was very handy.

Once I connect it, If I fold it there it will pump the tubes to 3psi which is better than a foot pump :-)

Bugger. Bloody phone (Blame the work tools HAHA)

I connect the adapter to the tube and twist.
I pump the air in
If I press the adapter down the tube pumps up to 3 PSI. If I don't press, the air leaks between the adapter and valve

:pump
