F-Rib 330

Post by dalesman » 31 Jul 2015, 13:26

Well finally picked the frib up from Dave at Clyde outboard services, top guy by the way,and all I can say is it's bloody fantastic, now don't get me wrong I loved my sit on kayak for fishing but this is going to be so much better, every thing can be set in a very organised manner, no panicking when setting anchor because I can move all over it. Get to marks and back quicker. I can now enjoy being out with the new wife doing things together.
Doesn't take any longer to set up than the kayak. In fact from on the floor to being ready to go on the water takes me 15 mins and am sure I can be quicker but who cares.
I can just about manage to get it off and on the motorhome by myself, couldn't manage the kayak on my own.
So overall I am highly delighted with my sorry our new toy. All I have to do now is sort the fishing gear out, fit the fish finder to the rear seat etc
Will try post some pics but I think they are to large.

Graham :D

Whoop, whoop great news Graham and glad you're liking your purchase :party
Bloody hell that kayak must have been a monster if it was impossible to lift on your own :o
Sounds like the F-Rib will be a better all round experience to use out on the water for your activities :drive and if you don't mind me saying it :| safer and more stable ;-)
It'll be nice to see some photos, coz we love photos :D
Let the personalisation and mods begin
Enjoy :!:
:cheers

Excellent news Graham, and great to hear of another good dealer too.
As Paul says, that kayak must be bloody enormous if your finding the f-rib easier to manoeuvre :o
When will you be getting out in it then ??

The picture sizing will be getting altered shortly, so everyone should be able to post :D

Hi
Been out on it already, Loch Lomond on Thursday in beautiful weather for the trial run after registering it of course. Then on to Gare loch to have a quick fish on Fri. Met up with John another Frib newbie who pointed me in the right direction as where to fish but no luck.
The kayak was carried on the top of the motorhome it was 12' long not particularly heavy just awkward to pull up and get down on your own which I couldn't do .
Will be setting to and modifying the Frib as soon as I get home, will be putting some duck tape on the folding edges for a start as I have already taken a little chunk out .
Can't wait to get out again so much fun.

Graham
