So you are bringing your 330 up to my neck of the woods, I live 11 miles from Loch Lomond and I am waiting for a 330 as well. I guess they are both coming at the same time.

Nothing like a new boat coming to make you sort through the fishing tackle (and buy more).

Where will you be staying? Nearest good spot for mackerel to Loch Lomond is Loch Long which is a true fjord so nice and calm most of the time with stunning scenery. It is just a case of finding a school of mackerel and you can catch lots. If you have a fish finder it is easy but without one it is just a case of trying different spots until you catch some. You can launch at Arrochar or down between finnart and Glen mallon jetties. If you are in your motorhome how big is it? parking would be easier near to the slipway down near finnart. If you want to give me a call my details are on my website - www.supfishing.co.uk

Yes, there are mackerel in the Clyde (although I didn't catch any this morning). Are you launching over at greenock? If so you could try "Roseneath patch beacon" it is a small platform structure 2/3 of the way across towards Roseneath It match some shallow rocks and the tide runs around them quite quick. You could try there or turn left and go down to Cloch lighthouse area and again fish off the point where the tide is strongest.

The clyde is a nasty brown colour at the moment, it is quite natural and happens every year when you get a plankton bloom which then dies off colouring the water.
