Well I finally managed to get out for 45 minutes this morning. Learnt a lot about the combo today:
1: Don't snag the kill chord when pull starting - it tends to fly off into the water never to be seen again. Borrowed one from a mate who has a shed by the beach :yay
2: When feeling around in the water to try and retrieve the above - don't dip your LJ into the water! oh well needed a new recharge kit anyway
3: Outboard performs very well, on plane quickly and down to low revs - even with the transom wheels down!!
4: Engine restarts very easily after stopping due to a closed vent screw :shame

You'd think I was new to all this not someone with 11 yrs experience!!
Only a short trip as wind getting stronger and tide turned so the 2 were opposing and even the estuary was getting lumpy.
Couple of short vids not very long but I was too busy making a complete arse out of myself :sos

Sounds good Mike, shame about the mishaps, I'm getting the same outboard, so I'll be sure to watch out for the killcord :TY

Yep, embarrassed but very happy with the 20. Losing the kill chord threw me out of my routine, usually run through final checks while outboard is warming Up, time was short so once warmed Up, I jumped in and went. It actually performed on a par with my mariner 15 - with the wheels down. Felt very torquey, which it must be to go like that with the wheels down. When I beached to retrieve I looked everywhere - twice for the wheels, was convinced I'd left them on the beach and lost them to the tide! Very shocked to find them on the transom when pinching onto the trailer. Hopefully that's all of 2018's tallywhacker-ups out of the way in one trip ;-)
