Depending on the engine James, some engines have remote engaging points already fitted so you can in effect lift the tiller and engage remote linkage but to be honest it has been many many years since I played at converting an engine to remotes.
It is a bit of a pain from what I recall because you have the steering and throttle/gears to also link so every time you go out, it all has to be installed and removed.
My old friend had the fantastic Zodiac Futura with full remote steering/throttle, the best sib EVER with a 25hp on the back it was just fantastic but it took about an hour to put the whole thing together but please bear in mind, there were no electric pumps in those days so you had to foot pump the boat up to pressure.
If I went the steering console route, I would also rig a simple camping trailer, engine inside, boat on top doing the install and removal at home leaving only the engine to connect at the venue but not a permanent trailer as I don't want the trailer/boat in the garden.

Re: F-Rib Accessories
Thankyou for the information. It's something to chew on because I do think a wheel would be cool. I've got some of the parts to convert my engine with so will collect the rest as I go and see what I come up with lol.
I also don't / can't have a full blown trailer. I was hoping to get a folding one like they see in Australia but I've had to luck there.
