Re: Problem with F_Rib
I've managed to fix both valves now, although I did end up using silicone as I couldn't get them to seal without it.

Re: Problem with F_Rib
Hello all, just joined and already offering advice
.
I've got the same problem with my PRV's in my 360, to such an extent that I had a valve fail on Saturday 3 miles from shore, letting out most of the air in the left hand tube. I've decided to have the valves removed and patched by Rib Shop. Not the cheapest but worth it for piece of mind that this won't happen again. I've also asked for a tie down strap to be attached for the fuel tank so it doesn't bounce about all over the place. I've also asked if they can do something about the seats sliding back when in transit? I'll let you know how I get on when i get out on the water at the end of the month.

Re: Problem with F_Rib
Hi adventure06 and
to the forum
Sorry to read about your PRV failure and I'm sure it gave you quite a shock/worrying 'moment'
There have been a couple reports of small leaks due to poor fitment/adhesion of the PRV assembly to the PVC sponsons but yours is the first report of complete failure
If the boat is new then return it or if second hand wouldn't a replacement valve be a quicker/cheaper option
in addition by patching over these valves could this action devalue or put off any future buyers if you come to sell on in the future
The PRV's were a selling point to me having used the boat in Spain and France where their fitment was invaluable .... however I can't recall their operation boating in and around the UK, clocking up some 300+ hours afloat during my ownership
so maybe that's where you're basing your decision to patch over them
With regard to the lack of fixing/tie downs ... utilisation of current fixing points within the hull was the route I chose to take using 'D' rings Just my 2p ..... it's your boat, your way to make it 'yours'

Re: Problem with F_Rib
Sorry for my much delayed reply. Just so busy at the moment and been away with work.
I'm thinking of doing the same Paul and utilising what's there already. My 360 has been to Rib Shop in Southampton and although not cheap they've done a really good job.
I've had heavy duty valves put in for piece of mind, two lashing points attached for the fuel tank to be placed under the front seat and a couple of eyelets attached in the front seat runner rails to stop the seat sliding back.
I'm out on the water tomorrow for the first time in a month so will post a few pictures when I get back.
The boat is a 2014 model but has only been used 5 times. Unfortunately there are some superficial scratches on the bottom which I'll get sorted over winter. On that note does anyone know of a company around Portsmouth they'd recommend for gel coating? When i spoke to Rib Shop they said it was outside their field?
I'll be up for going out round The IOW weather pending, if anyone's up for it later in the month?

Re: Problem with F_Rib
+1
With regard to the IOW circumnavigation it's been on the cards for the past couple of years however the weather gods haven't been in our favour
We can work towards a date at the end of the month but if it happens it'll be a last minute decision based on the weather
'Clockwise' is the favoured route from previous discussion about wind over tide etc .... your preferred launch site is up to you ..... all meet up at a set time at Cowes .... then go for it
That's my 2p .... any others

Re: Problem with F_Rib
SO ive just got a FRIB-430, i dont recall seeing a pressure release valve on mine. Only problem i have is that in order to inflate you need to push a twist a nipple inside to get a seal. Then to deflate you have to push and twist it the other way. Now with my big fingers its a problem. Anyone got any bright ideas for that? Was considering taking the valve apart to see how it works and then designing something and printing it on my 3D.
