Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
Patience......lol
So progress report.
Console in and fixed down,
Flooring done...
. . . . . . .
Unfortunately the stuff only comes in a 2.4m sheet and it would seem that those industrious little yellow fellows have no concept of what a batch code is???

That looks bloody fantastic, Andy. I hope to see it in the flesh some time!

Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
I did the templates myself and then dropped them off to Tye at wasserdeck / marine teak in gosport. Then fitted them myself..

Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
How did you get the floor edge to work like that?
Slim strips on the outside of the main section? Looking good however you did it. Makes me want to do another... but no space at the moment in the domestic set up....
. A boat on the drive isn't appreciated:( let alone 2 and a project

Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
It's probably easier if i just show you.
I have some bits left over.
Now you have to remember that this stuff is cheap and not the expensive fake teak flooring.
It was only £36 for a sheet 2.4mx0.9m.
That said you can get quite a good effect. How long it will last is another thing
So, you start with a piece like this.
. .
First thing is to cut along the first row of the pattern, making sure you leave the black strip attached to the outside edge.
This will become your border piece. Only cut down as far as the curve will start, leaving it attached to the main body of the flooring.
. .
Next job is to mark the curve, now if you're doing this to a template you need to allow for the border.
. .
Cut this line and then bend the border around the curve.
. .
For a square end, first draw out the total length you need.
From this point you need to mark a 45 degree line from the end to the intersection of the black stripe.
Then draw a parallel line from this point, this will be your cut line.
. . . . .
Next you need to trim off a single strip of flooring to form your border, remembering to leave the black strip attached
. . .
For more complicated angles you need to work out the over all angle and divide it to make sure the pieces match up.
after a bit of mucking about you can achieve this sort of thing...
