Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
I haven't yet, as it's just chucked in there for now.
I,ve got the floor to do first and then it will be held in place with plenty of Sikaflex-291i and a handful of screws.

A bit more progress today...
. .
It's a lot easier to rig it out of the boat.
. .
And this is why the jockey seat isn't fitted yet.

Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
Today i was determined to get to the bottom of the pressure loss i was getting with a couple of the tubes???
As i've been cleaning the tubes i had not noticed any punctures and have been all over it.
The weather has been very cold and that never helps with pressures. But my biggest concern was the bottom seam between the hull and the tubes!
Over time stuff can get in there and cause punctures. And they are a bugger to fix!!!!
Filled the boat with a couple of inches of soapy water and waited to see any bubbles.
lucky all was good
. Turned my attention back to the valves, i had washed them over before, but as the loss in pressure was so gradual i decided a closer inspection was needed.
Made myself a soapy water solution and squirted plenty into the valves. At first, nothing so i went for a cup of tea and left it for half an hour.
On my return the evidence i'd been looking for was finally there to see....
. . .
My first thought was to replace the valves, but on closer inspection the diaphragms were filthy! So out with the cotton wool buds and plastics cleaner and lets at it. Nothing to lose by trying?
. . .
The evidence was clear to see.
. .
Pumped the tubes up and all seems good. Time will tell......
Looks like one got away though

Wow, all exciting stuff !
If you had to change the valves, what would you have to do ? Do they simply unscrew ?

Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
These are Leaffield A7 valves and servicing them is relatively easy,
But it's probably easier if i just let someone else show you how....
