Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
I tried to order a pair of Humber "H"s for the boat at the weekend.
Unfortunately they won't sell them without a hull number, which I don't have.
Oh well, saved myself £60....

Easy to get round that, find another Humber rib, photograph the plate showing the hull number, and use that to purchase the H's.

Looks like it is progressing nicely. Keep up the pics!
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Re: Humber 4 meter Rib
OK,
Well the weathers been against me so not much progress so far, but i was determined to get the boat back over this weekend so the day started with a bucket of hot soapy water to get rid of the ice that had built up on the hull.
I've been using a variety of thing to clean up the tubes. Namely Cillit Bang Max Power to remove the worst of the dirt then followed up with August Race Tube cleaner. and then 3M tube restorer.
Some of the more stubborn stains are going to require much more work than i'm prepared to put in at this stage, but for now I'm happy with the results.
Filled the worst of the damage in the GRP, but again i've not gone to town as it's a case of where do you stop???
Added a keel guard and given the boat a quick once over with the mop...
.
.
With the bottom of the boat being at the stage where it's getting all it's got I moved on to the jockey seat.
The first cut is always the hardest, But you know the saying measure twice, cut once...
.
.
By this time the sun was dropping, so i flipped the boat over and put it back on the trailer.
Of course i couldn't help myself and had to drop the consul in just to see how it would look.
. .
Plenty more still to do, but at least it's starting to look like something.
