Now that I have decided to go for a Frib 330 and a 6hp engine. I'm now completing a shopping list for accessories. What launching wheels do people recommend for a 330. The F RIB ones seem expensive, but are they expensive for a very good reason. What are the alternatives??
Cheers

Hi Billy. I have the F-Rib wheels, they are very strong and well made. Strong springs on the lock release springs. Simply remove and place in mount upside down when underway. I've used mine on a large pebbles beach with 20hp 4 stroke on transom and fuel tank etc in boat, so far zero sign of damage or bending to the transom mounting bracket.Gilly65 wrote:Now that I have decided to go for a Frib 330 and a 6hp engine. Re: What wheels.
I owned my 360 with a 20hp for 3 years without any issues using these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Launching-Wh ... SwTm9Z9E14 and I think Martin's still using the same.
200kg rating, easy to deploy/retract and for easy removal 2x8mm drop nose pins are a blessing.
Just my 2p

Yes Paul. That’s correct.. I also bought the wheels with the longer shaft too, To be honest the short shaft seem good quality, however the welds on the longshaft including general finish were absolutely terrible.
I ground the spindles down to stop them fouling the outboard lock to lock and then got them re-welded.
Just got them back today and i'm much happier with the result. No more stub axle stuck out an inch
Overall though, I think these aftermarket wheels are far easier to use than the ones Frib sell.
I like the dropping attachment and a quick swap between up and down position without loss of the wheels in the wet stuff
Anyways, here’s my newly welded set

Re: What wheels.
I have the F-RIB wheels. It was a toss up between these and the much more expensive, but easier to deploy removable Beechmaster wheels for me. In addition to the cost, the reduced ground clearance put me off the Beechmasters. That and I didn’t really want to be drilling holes in to a new boat myself.Gilly65 wrote:Now that I have decided to go for a Frib 330 and a 6hp engine. The F-RIB wheels are well made, but I second that they can be fiddly to put down without getting wet. You’re trying to push a buoyant tyre under water whilst clipping in the legs which is made harder if the boat is moving forwards.
