F-Ribs And Sibs - Inflatable Boat Community

On a recent outing, launching from the Wyre estuary I got stuck on a hidden mudbank even though I was watching the depth sounder. Luckily I had the wheels down, so no damage to the prop.
(photo of my tracks at low tide) I had to get into the water in order to push off. Getting back in the boat was hard enough waist deep with feet in the mud , which led me to think how hard would it be in deep water in an emergency situation? so first thing when I got back was to order a boarding ladder... good quality, £17 off ebay if anybody else is thinking of jumping in the water.

Great stuff Cliff, I've been threatening to make one of those for some time, but i think at £17.00 i'll just purchase one.

Mines got 2 rungs on it cause I found the more rungs you have the more difficult it is to get your feet on them as the water makes the ladder twist & turn in the tide.

Thanks for your pictures and thoughts on ladders. I was looking into one because while getting these old bones int the boat from shallow water is not a sight one wishes to see a second time I think I could be in real trouble from deeper water!
