Using a knife ina SIB

It's quite small, but the blade locks out so not 100% sure on the legality.

Nobody is ever going to question you about having a knife on your person while on board a boat.
Just don't go waving it around in the post office

EDIT - oops just seen you've made a decision - don't think my page had reloaded.

I like the Gill personal rescue knife - bought originally for dinghy sailing but now versions on my LJs and buoyancy aid. Doesn't look like it will do much but have used it to cut ropes etc no bother. Rounded tip and the new ones haven't corroded (sent back the old version and they replaced free of charge when they corroded)
Interested to see what others are using though.

Yes plus the marlin spike helps if you are struggling with a knot in a rope , bargain as it covers most things
