Takacat owners reviews

Post by Helphelp » 25 Aug 2022, 18:44

Hi, have been looking at the Takacat 380 LX lots of promotional videos on you tube but would like to hear from someone who has one and used it.
I saw a few on here that were barely used and were sold is something dissapointing about them, they seem to be quite a bit more expensive than most of the competition at that size.
I have a 6hp outboard which I intend to use I don't want a speed boat so hope this will be sufficient for general use with 1 possibly 2 adults.
Interested to hear your experiences.

Thank you.

Hi, I have the slightly smaller 340LX with a 6hp Suzuki 4 stroke. I bought an electric inflator and a 12V 7Ah battery and the wheel kit so its easy to blow up and push and pull around. A nice little set up but the 6hp is just too small so go for something bigger, especially if you go on fast tidal rivers or the sea. It is a quality product so ignore the expense!

If you want to see how capable the small cats are take a look at the TrueKit guys playing in the surf zone over the bar in a 4m TrueKit Discovery 9.9hp motor. Kudos for leaving the helms error at 2.40 in….lucky to get away with that, but testament to the boats inherent safety.

A 380 Takacat will be the same. Just be prepared for a wet ride in surf and strap everything down as any water over the bows just goes straight out through the open transom. :D

Brilliant seen this on YOUTUBE what a craft and the faith they have in it, but guys he is very experienced, saying that the only way to get that is to get out there as one Donny Wilcox told me last year lol.
