Re: Highfield Classic Deluxe Review
In all the years I've owned multi million £ Super yachts, none of my staff/crew have reported any of the issues you've highlighted in this video
Just goes to show that if you buy cheap, you buy twice
Seriously though, excellent video review with lots of useful tips and and very interesting to watch. I struggled to find any useful 'real world' information on Highfields recently when I was considering this very same model so doubly usefull to people like me or anyone wanting to hear first hand experience with regard to aluminium hulls. Cheers

With sufficient thrust, pigs will fly just fine.

Re: Highfield Classic Deluxe Review
after watching this i appreciate the small niggles but a 3.8m rib will always be a compromise to a degree.
the tilt button on the throttle, aside from putting on to and out of gear, i never hold the top. i hold the throttle lower down with the side of my hand on the main trottle unit allowing me to make finer throttle adjustment on the go thus allowing my for fore finger or thumb to trim the engine on the fly.
the grab handles placement. i agree that they sould be a bit higher.
the alround white light... there is no real reason to have the engine tilted while thats opperational. so not sure where you are going with that. if its dark the engine should be down ready to fire up in a moments notice. if it tilted up, remove the pole.
the drain hole. if maintained, a simple dry up with a sponge and hoover when dry... sand and grit gone. simple.
boarding ladder. i struggle to see how highfield would mount one on the transom... not much space. as for boarding from a beach, meh, we all get wetter than we would like its normal.
lastly, the postion of the oars, with the helm position yes i can see its a not ideal but then rowing a 3.8m rib with tiny ally oars won't get you anywhere fast. better off using them as a kayak paddle from the bow and use them to push off from a beach when you are onboard so you can tilt the engine down when the water is deep enough and not get wet up to your waist. she'll float in 10 inch of water with the engine up. use a paddle like a river punt.
over all the review was great but the dislikes are really not that big.

If it has t*ts, tyres or floats......it's gonna cost ya!
