Taking the Dog

As me and Her indoors approach retirement we hope to use our boats more. We have little a dog (Poppy) and she is not all that keen on boats.
We took her out yesterday in the Honwave T38 and we were very pleased with how she was. I have now got to make some sort of raised bit in the front so that we can put her bed on that and she will have something to lay/sit on where she can see over the side.
Do many of you also take your dog and any tips appreciated.

Well that was easy to make. I decided to make a little removable dog seat at the front of the boat (Remember this is for gentle cruises up the River not venturing out on the High seas). All i did was cut a piect of 12 mm ply to the shape at the bow. Stick on 10 mm EVA tile with double sided tape. I protruded the EVE about 10 mm at all sides so that there would be no wood to tube rubbing and tied it to the 2 very well positioned D rings and suspended it with Para chord from the rope guides at the front. And hey Presto a little dog seat raised up and out of any wet. All totally removable and made from stuff I had
I think it should work ok. Can also be used as a little shelf if you havnt' got the dog with you.

Ruby and Holy out on Loch Goil
Here is Ruby being rocked gently to sleep on Loch Lomond
Heading up the Leven onto Loch Lomond
I was worried about them being on the sib as its not quite the same as a normal boat but they both were in the boat before me, they loved it.

They seem to be enjoying their day out and they seem to shop at the same outfitters as our dog
