Anchor storage

Post by grommet » 01 Sep 2020, 21:37

What do you guys use to store your anchor on your RIB to stop it bouncing around causing damage and manage the rope/chain to keep it tidy and ready to use? I only plan on taking around 40 meters 6mm rope and 3 meters of 6mm chain and all the bags I have seen just seem a bit big.

Cheers

Many, including myself, just use a cheap flexi/garden tub.

I use a cheap Aldi dry bag for the anchor and drogue. to be honest I've never used the anchor (but always take it) the drogue is used quite regularly to slow the drift when fishing.

The trug is for the fish.

I have been thinking of building a custom electric winch and mount for the front of my 430. Will post some design ideas if anyone is interested. Will be looking at running it off a small 24v battery and solar cell to charge while out and about.
