So How Is The New Forum ???

Post by Martin » 03 Jun 2018, 18:13

Ask your questions here if you're struggling with it, i'll do my best to help you if you're having navigational problems.

look for the =[QUICK LINKS] button at the top left of the menu bar for a vast array of options. (your posts/new posts/unread/unanswered/active topics/search/members/team/thnks list)

You'll notice our superb phpbb developer (Mark.. many Thanks) has brought across the "Thanks" for post button and kept the hits with it too.
Supporting members discount banner is back with us, Smilies brought over, and he's working on the fribs and sibs banner to centralise and make it work right over here.

The home button (house image) next to the board index will eventually take you to the new website. At the moment it will take you back to the old forum.
DO NOT USE THE OLD FORUM ANY MORE>>> IT IS GETTING DELETED ASAP !!!!

We are aware of the image problem and it’s getting worked on.
Hopefully they’ll be viewable soon 😳

Tapatalk - Gone !! ( It caused so many problems )
Mobile View - Not needed, the platform we have is fully responsive with all devices (hopefully) :shame
Emoticons/Emojis - You use your phone emojies now, no more clicking over there ---->

Hopefully, Overall a more stable and user friendly platform, It's fresh and crisp just like an iceburg lettuce :clappy

Hope you like it guys.
The update was needed for support/security and progression

Martin :cheers

Sparerib, use the =menu button at the top left hand of the forum, relevant commands are on there depending on how you’ve used the forum.
You can specify how long for new posts/unread posts/active topics from one day to weeks.

Looking good, and the usability on a phone is good as well. An active topics button on the bottom left (like the old forum had) would be a big help as I used to use that all the time. All in all a great upgrade

Thanks Chris. Feedback is always great to hear whether good or bad.
I take onboard you’re active topics request and it’s something we’ll look into.
Though you can always use the drop down menu button at the top of each page or swipe backwards on your browser to get you back to active topics if that’s where you’ve come from.

I don’t know CSS unfortunately so the request will go on the list for the next time I bring the developer in.

Martin 👍🏻

I've now tried the new forum on a PC, iPad, and very small iPhone. It's highly usable on all those platforms. I don't think the loss of Tapatalk will matter now the web version is so good.
