Possibly in the very distant future :o :?
I’ve got a lot of faith in DJI but after seeing my old drone go off on one I’ve kinda lost faith in electronics atm :no

Exactly, Aaron’s a seasoned drone pilot so it shows it can happen to anyone.
My intention is to put floats on the mavic when flying over water, even if I crash it and trash it - I can then recover it !
Recovered and send into dji for repair

I want to use by Bebop with follow me, however if it takes a skinny-dip, I'll regret it lol

On the subject of "follow me", if for example it took off from "home" which was on land, does it "return to home" to that point or can you get it back to the controller that is now out in a boat? Not had chance to fly mine yet but I am curious. Same curiosity.... if you launch from a boat and the home point moves, how does that work? :chat :Confused :?: :?: :?:

If it records a home point on land, it will return to that point if signal is lost.
Although you can also regain control while it's in return home mode. If we're talking Phantom that is.
Mind you i will point out that the home point could be anything up to a couple of square meters in my experience :?

If you take off from land and the drone loses signal from the controler or runs low on battery it will land at the point where it took off from. If you take off from your boat and it loses signal or battery as long as the boat has not moved it will land back on the boat but if you take off from the boat and then move the boat to another location then if the drone loses signal or battery it will go back to the point of where it took off from. Ie it will end up in the water. You can cancel the retun to home function as long as you regain signal. So I think if you are flying over water. Don't let fly the drone too far away so you don't lose signal

My P1 would return to the home point on land as long as you don't switch it off before take off.
(ie if your record a home point then hop in your boat and then take of out on the water it will return to the land based home point not the take off point.)
