Nice one Andy, brought back memories! 16 Para Bde 23 PFA 1973. completed "P" Coy but injured on last day - graded unfit to jump, real bummer!

A bit before my time I joined in 79 and left 2003 and spent my last 19 years jumping out of perfectly serviceable aircraft.

I knew 23 PFA very well and my current knee consultant went to 23 from us at 7 which was his first post as a doctor.

Small world Andy - your Doc being ex 23! What's his name, I may have met him later on. I take it when you said "7" you mean 7 RHA next door neighbours to 23 in North Camp

Yep @warder54 7 RHA. Our RMO was the "mad doc" Jonathan Hull and my anaesthetist was Sam Pamberton (something like that) also ex 23. We had quite a catch up over the two knee ops. On the second one I arrived in the operating theatre wearing the Frankenstein mask and he had to do a selfie. The nurses were gob-smacked

@The Hobbit Wow small world indeed, I remember Jonathan Hull from the 80's I think it was at BMH Munster and he was a Capt by then.

He came to us in 1985 as a Capt not long out of training with just an "interest in bones". He left the army in 1999 and joined the NHS and he is currently the joint head orthopaedic and trauma consultant at Frimley Park. So effectively he diagnosed my initial knee injuries in his first year as a doctor and got me into the CMH in 85 and 86. This year he has replaced both my knees and sorted them in his final year. He is due to retire shortly. Small world indeed.

I definitely recall that he stayed in Argentina during my boating holiday in the South Atlantic @sonny1
