Yeh, very similar but a fraction of the price :?
I went for the SJ5000 wifi in the end, slightly larger screen on the rear at 2"
The video looks sharp but pleasant so fingers crossed :D

I was looking about a year ago at the GoPro but after working out what the cost would be for the bits I needed, I discarded the idea. After a little research I came across the Veho Muvi camera which comes with ALL the fittings, remote release and a waterproof case for £200 or less when you look around. Tests on youtube showed it to be on a par with GoPro but each make has slightly different colour hues when looking at the end result.

I am now retired so it is on back burner so didn't buy one but here are some details. Go Outdoors sell them at £160 every now and again for the full kit. Well worth a look

As you know, I ordered the SJCAM SJ5000 wifi action cam, Well it arrived yesterday. Got it straight out of the box, did a firmware upgrade to the latest that's just been released. :Boxsmile
The first charge gave me 45mins of 720hd with wireless mode & HDR on, the second charge gave me 75mins with the same settings. Not brilliant but manageable :scratch
Back on charge again, hopefully it'll run to 90mins next time, then I'll be well happy. :Confused
Footage is bright, sharp and clear. First impressions, I'm delighted :party

I've ordered a 5000ma battery pack with led torch and solar charge facility, it has USB output at both the iPhone and iPad required voltage and amps, This should give me plenty of battery back up for the phone and camera if I'm not taking my big Ring Power Pack out with me.
Waterproof case and selfie stick next on the want list then we're ready for the off :drive

Hello Martin,It`s fair to say that go pro are the king of action cameras however I bought my son a vivitar camera [/http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... 493653.htm] and its pretty good for £30 and the go pro`s are much much more expensive. My 8 year old son uses it for his stunt scooter riding. I will now attempt to upload a clip for you to view. [img]

Nope,Can you only upload clips from youtube ? as I cant upload a video file.

ive got the SJ4000 with accessory pack, have to say its brilliant! I get just over an hour on the battery, spare batteries, cases, every mount you could want etc are available for peanuts and the quality is brilliant! I've used it mountain biking on red routes attached to the bike and it managed fine (the plastic mounts did struggle to stay in position a bit on the harder bumpier sections so I bought an aluminium mount for about £3!)
I have used it on a chest mount on a mud run where it got bashed and shook and dunked into horrible muddy water.... absolutely no problem!
and I use a shoulder mount on the motorbike.
this was all obviously in the waterproof case I wouldn't use it without that unless doing something indoors.

As far as using it as a dash cam goes.... I wouldn't bother for a few reasons:
1. you have to fit/remove it every journey, the novelty of this will soon wear off and you can guarantee the one time I need the footage I'd have forgot or not bothered fitting it!
2. if you forget to remove it you could come back to a damaged car and no camera
3.Its going to be a big bulky object in the windscreen. This would annoy me!

Much better idea is to install a eprance 0803 (I think there is a 0806 out now but ive not looked into it) dash cam, hard wire it into an ignition feed and just forget about it until you come to it to retrieve footage :-)
I have a 0806 and would recommend it.

Forgive me but why does anyone want a dash cam, is it in the hope of getting footage if someone acts like a pratt on the road, just curious.
