Storing outboard

Post by Man on Mann 1 » 30 Jul 2023, 05:27

Hi

I have a Suzuki 6HP DFA which I store permanently in my van. This can also be laid down in one of three positions when transporting.

I am converting the van to a camper and ideally need to keep the outboard laid flat

Can it be store horizontally in a permanent basis?

Thanks for any advice

Paul

Ideally it should be stored vertically, though they do say side storage is ok for travelling..
Personally, i don't see why it can't be stored horizontal, as long as you sit it upright for a short while before starting - even then, maybe keep the killcord out for a few pulls to allow oil to move about a bit before starting.
Keep your eyes peeled on https://land-and-sea.co.uk for your camper conversion bits, It's a new site and we'll look after forum members.
Anything you need, just message on facebook (or call) and we'll try and get it for you, we have a good range of suppliers now but need to get it all listed on the online store.
