My project for today was to make a water bin for my outboard as stated on my previous post to be able to start it up on a regular basis to circulate the oil and to be able to run the prop in forward and reverse to circulate oil in the gearbox.

The blue drum I have had for a long time that was being used as a rubbish bin outside but really too big but perfect for this job, the tap for emptying it also I had for a few years so it just needed a nut and rubber washer, drilled a hole in the bin, half hours work, when filled the bin to a certain level with water atart in up and run it till warm, when finished turn the tap to empty and wheel it back in the garage.
It works great and the right size to do all this :thumbsup

The wood base below the bin to bring it a little higher I made out of some off cuts I had laying around from other projects.

Well its 7:45 a.m. here in Michigan, woke up from a dream that I was out in barn n took the cover off to take e peek n make sure all was ok... it was, in my dream that is.
So, today that is just what I'm going to do, besides that I'm getting anxious for spring and this will help me through winter as soon as it gets here, right now I'm just finishing my fall leaf cleanup. The pic is of the leaves so far. 18' W x 32' D x 30" H n all through the leaf vacuum.

Today has been collecting bits for the bigger boat to complete its coding, yesterday was cleaning the middle sized RIB and pressure testing tubes, today is charging the battery on the little RIB which I am allowed to talk about here as she is 4.8m :-) The SIB is sadly packed away at mo :-(

After a few goes waiting for the right weather, a short trip to Babbacombe and Oddicombe in Soth Devon before enjoying a pint in the afternoon sun. A great way to spend a Sundayafternoon 8-)

Started preparing the ad to sell my beloved but underused boat: Smartwave 480 centre console with Yam 60efi outboard.
My boating mate is getting a bit old to help with launch and retrieve now, we do not have a slipway near us and no jetty to use once in the water. It can be hard work on a shingle/pebble beach.
Keeping my F-Rib 360/Tohatsu 20 efi though :P :drive

Today, on top of the Honda 20HP engine I have and which buckles my knees trying to do anything with it alone, I saw a deal on a 2.5 HP Suzuki so grabbed it.

Now I don't have to really rely on someone else being around to get a spontaneous little trip on the river without buckling my knees!

I'm really curious to know how much of difference there is in performance. Is it gigantic or subtle?

When the missus + I get to finally travel around, I'd like to bring a Sib along. We're use to a 20hp but I agree with what you say. Wondering how small I can go but yet get around decent enough.
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

Well I haven't even tried the 20HP at all yet but I just knew (felt) like it's going to stop me doing my own thing, or even taking my mum for a little river cruise etc. I bought the 20HP because there'll be some coastal tours and I wanted performance with 4 of us in there sometimes, so I really think this little 2.5 is going to be just great for a bimble down the river for a chilled sunny day cruise to the pub... (Are you getting tempted yet? :D)

In case it's useful, this is what I bought: https://www.marinesuperstore.com/outboa ... -hp-engine

Just to say, it had an extra £100 when I ordered yesterday and at least one other site has it at that I think.
