Seemed to work surprisingly well straight out of the box....20hp motor mounted directly on transom (no packers), AV plate dead level with keel, and trimmed out to position three. Fuel tank located forward and anchor in bow locker, kit bags under seat etc. all to get some weight upfront.
Performance, albeit on flat water, with two up plus kit was nimble as expected. Banks and grips well in powered turns.
Max displacement speed around 5mph at 1800rpm. Bow rides high transitioning, but apply power and it snaps instantly onto plane. Cruises effortlessly at 19mph/4500rpm. Max speed 27mph at 6200rpm. This was all with a 10” pitch prop...reckon you could probably go up an inch.
Of course this was all on flat water, where it’s going to excel. Throw in some chop, with its short length and hard hull, it’ll be a bucking bronco.
