Highfield Ribs, any feedback?

Post by Cliff » 09 Jan 2018, 11:38

Hi All, :wavey I'm looking at 2nd hand ribs, and came across these, with an aluminium hull, seems a good idea for transport and self launching. http://www.highfieldboats.com/classic-340/

Anybody got one or know anything about them? Also, what is the difference between hypalon and dtex coated fabric. I've a lot to learn, so might as well do it before I fork out. :LMT Cliff

Hi Cliff.
A Highfield 380 CL was on my shopping list last year but I changed my motorbike instead - the Mrs wasn't having it.
She did however fleece me for an upgraded eternity ring :thud
I'd have a Highfield a heart beat.
I went to see one in Edinburgh last year - I posted up pics on here.
They are made in China (like most sib/things in general ).
Build quality looked good.
The hypalon is a 1 grand upgrade ovef pvc and to be honest you wouldn't need it unless you lived in the tropics.
The 380 CL is still top of my shopping list and if finances allow I hope to be getting one still. ..... :party
I'm looking to punt my Honwave 3.5ae this year to make way for another boat :drive

Thanks for that, :thumbsup reinforces my initial thoughts about them. As you say it's all about the finances, I applied for that super rich club, but I think the application got lost in the post :yay

I wanted a highfield RIB really bad but just couldn't find them in our area or the price was way too high. Read great things about them and watched a lot of videos.
Wrote a note said, 'back in a minute'. Bought a boat and I sailed off in it.

:thumbsup Likewise, I've been trawling the web and youtube too. This is the rib I'm interested in it weighs only 49kg so not a problem for the roof rack and solo launch with a 9.8hp OB. http://www.highfieldboats.com/ultralite-310/ . The seat even has a cup holder, how cool is that :fishing Found a few dealers in the UK.

:thumbsup Thanks for that as it's hard to tell if others outside the U.S. understand what great things he is doing for us here. After my family endured some really terrible times during the Recession thanks to the pathetic Liberals, it's such a wonderful feeling to be blessed to have someone finally bring us up out of the muck. Your right in that he gets blamed for everything when all he is doing is helping the country as a whole by acting on what he promised and what the American people want. The press, establishment, hollywood and illegals are our worst enemies and seem to never let any of his accomplishments surface for others to hear.

Totally agree, our media press and establishment are totally corrupted by woolly minded liberals. I take everything they say with a hefty dose of the old briney :waterski

Highfield ribs are a great boat and very capable. I almost got a 4.7m with a 50 on the back a few years back brand new with a trailer firect from honda but i got scared and backed out and got a cuddy cruiser instead.......go figure.

Would recomend them with 100% confidence
