Finally got to see a Highfield 380 CL today.
Travelled through to Edinburgh to have a look at a new one which was in a warehouse gathering dust and bird droppings as it awaits fitment of engine and console.
After seeing feeling it in the flesh ive decided 100% that this is the way I'm going next year.
Very impressed with build quality and how light it was.
It was noticeably longer and deeper than my Honwave 3.5ae.
The tubes are 10mm smaller in diameter which is barely noticeable.
I said to my mate lift it up at the transom.
He was absolutely dumbfounded when he lifted the rear up off the rollers with very little effort.
"F@*k me that's light" he said!
I was impressed with the bow locker which has storage for fuel tank and an anchor.
It can be fitted out with transom wheels just like a Sib so it can be dry launched off it's trailer as well as pulled up the beach clear of the water when coming ashore.
I mostly go out on my own and launch from sandy beaches predominantly so being able to pull the Sib out of the water whilst I retrieve the car is a bonus not to mention not having to dunk the trailer.
I will be selling my current sib next year with it's trailer and buying an indespension mini roller coaster trailer.
Already milling over what mods I can make to it to customise it to my needs.
I'll post a few pics later as someone asked to post up some after I'd viewed it.

Re: Highfield 380 CL
Yup the Highfield is a cracking bit of kit that kinda bridges the gap from sib to rib.
The Frib is the ideal compromise between Sib and Rib as it is easily stows away .
I've got my wee Seago to chuck in my caravan for my boating adventures whilst caravanning I'm happy with that for now.
Maybe I'll go down the frib route in a few years once the wife has forgotten about the Highfield purchase.
I do like like Gurnard's baby Frib - that would just about fit in my caravan
Here's some pics.
Not the best as taken in warehouse.

Re: Highfield 380 CL
I've got my eye on the Highfield 360 CL. I think it will make an amazing fishing rib. Thanks for posting up the pics of the 380 Kaman, it definitely gets the juices flowing. They do a dark grey which would be ideal for fishing. I've only started saving for mine so I have a while to wait but I'm sure it will be worth it..
