I think it's the extra 30% cost they command that put folks off ...... but they cost that for good reason when you read the specs ;-)

Sorry old thread, but I use a 6.5m Highfield with a 150hp Outboard, aluminium hull, will do in excess of 40knts on slight seas on the Solent 4 up. Outstanding Boat but they are expensive and can be a bit juicy on fuel. But in the rough I give up long before I’ve ever reached anything near the limits of the Boat.

Whack up some pics in our new ‘small ribs’ section.
In my book, anything under 7m/200hp can be classed as a small rib. Ho! fookin ho! :whistle
