Whilst we were in North Wales (Black Rock Sands-Greenacres) I posted up about a Rib that was on the next pitch to me, What a cracking little boat.
Here's a few pictures for you.
It was a SeaNovo 3.65m rib, with a SeaNovo 15hp outboard, Both of Chinese origin

It's got a decent Consul & comfy bench seat

The hull was pretty impressive and certainly sliced its way through the chop

The hull was floodable to increase stability :drive

Inside the rib had two storage seats, one wet and one dry.

The outboard was a SeaNovo and looked very much like a Suzuki to me. The transom mount was definitely a Suzuki product.

Check out the mounting bracket manufacturer plate :o

What a cracking little RIB this was, perfect for someone with a small car, or someone no longer able to handle a sib on their own anymore, or perhaps someone doesn't have the room for an all singing-dancing big rib, but still fancies the small boat availability. Cheap as chips, and certainly cut the mustard imo :Boxsmile

Looks a nice little rib, how did it perform with the 15 on the back, seems as though it would be underpowered to me

In fairness Paul, it did very well.... :drive
It outran me on wot, using my standard prop and no stingray. But when I went back to the beach and fitted the new items, I think I just had the edge on him. So I'd guess it's good for 25mph.
I'm still waiting for a flat calm day where I can get my Honwave T38 out and put it through the paces, I need to do speed differences and get a proper wot reading with the ally prop on and a reading with the stainless prop. Then do a top speed difference with the hydrofoil fitted. :?

Here's something I spotted in Wales

About 3m I reckon but serious about getting some speed by these being added

I waited around for a while to talk with the owner to ask him where he got the 'tabs' and about performance but he didn't show :(

I can help you there Paul, they are from ebay USA. I bought a pair about 5 years ago for a SIB I had which did not come onto the plane that well with four people on board. It did with these fitted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They cost about £100 plus £16 import tax. They take a few minutes to fit and are fully adjustable so you can make serious changes to boat performance. Listed as boat lifters not trim tabs but I have not seen them on ebay UK for a while.

Thanks for that info Phil.

When I 'eyed' this sib from the side and noted the angle of the tabs/lifters it was evident that the only parts of this little rig in the water at speed would be the prop and tabs/lifters, hence why I wanted to ask the owner about its handling abilities at speed and what speeds he'd actually achieved
One thing's for sure it was a 'rocket' :!:

So what do those rather large white tabs do and how do they affect speed? I can see that they would help illiminate prop slip by causing a vacuum and I guess keep the rear of the boat from digging in perhaps at slower speed and swells? :I'm New
