My new renewell qoute from Allan and Thomas had been increased by £40. £54 to £94. They cite marine insurances increasing across the board. Has any one else seen an increase in their insurance re-newalls?

I decided some time ago not to bother with that company..
Thet deem it acceptable to pinch our content for use on their own website without consent, I call that "copyright infringment"
I could raise issue with them, but i'd rather just not let them have my money for now.
Apart from that, our friendly insurance chap that used to work for them has moved elsewhere, along with half A&T clients now. :yay

If it's sib insurance you want, ring craftinsure or do it online, please mention the forum if you do go to craft insure.
If you need specific quality rib or other craft insurance, pm Peter M on the forum and he'll be more than happy to assist you.

Martin. :cheers

Sorry to hear that... indeed I used to be responsible for all of their aviation and marine clients and had certain freedoms to look after forum members by doing the odd deal here and there.

They were purchased by a big investment company and things got worse for me... so I left!!!

For sibs craftinsure are hard to beat on price.... but cheapest isn't always best.....

Some good news is that my legal restrictions drop away next week... so if anyone wants to move away from A&T .. even if part way through a policy ....to me.. they now can !

Feel free to message me if anyone wants any advice.... ;)

Marine insurances increasing across the board? Not my experience, my renewal from Craftinsure has come through at exactly the same price as last year, £44.55 so no increase.
Last year it actually dropped from the previous year's premium of £55.04 :thumbsup

Mine went up this year but that appears to be an error on craftinsure's behalf previously. Thankfully nothing happened but i was under insured for the trailer
All sorted now and still coming in at healthy £70 for the frib 375/20hp efi and trailer (Insured to £5k)

Some rates have crept up - but not hugely. Its not been a great few years for specialist insurance (what I do is counted as specialist in boats & aircraft) - To many avoidable claims for death/ injury costing A LOT of money - means it takes huge numbers of £150 premium to pay for it all .

As said before make sure your values are accurate and you are declaring all the uses of a boat & read the actual policy so you know when its not covered etc . Craft insure are good for deflated sibs kept at home in the garage.... :)

Thanks for the replies and advice lads. Martin, i wasnt aware that occurred, but having said that, some thing rings a bell now. Any way, If i knew before hand, i would have looked else where for insurance. I suppose the initial insurance was ok, i think they are trying it on with a £40 hike.

My insurance dropped nearly £30 this year with Craftinsure. It was about £70 last year and came down to just over £40 this year. Must be the no claims bonus.

Just gonna put my tuppence in, I have recently made a claim with craftinsure and they were nothing short of superb. E mails answered the next working day, claim approved next working day and payout within a couple of days. I wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend
them in future.

Oh no! What did you have to claim for? Is your boat ok?
