Craftinsure

I've just changed insurers, after hearing many good comments about Craftinsure on here, thought I'd get a quote.
It was the best experience I've ever had getting a quote. All they needed to know was: How much, How fast, and Max speed plus any previous claims. Clicked next - expecting the usual barrage of questions and minute details, to be faced with a list that must be complied with. Checked down the list, yes, yes, yes and oops, my boats not wood/grp/metal (Smartwave)
Fired off a quick email and had a reply 2 Hours later (on a Saturday) No problem, just complete the quote and they would be aware it was me and all ok.
Started the process again - no chore :D and was surprised to have a price that put a smile on my face! :yay
Guess where I'm going for the F-Rib insurance renewal.

I had a similar experience when I first insured the Honwave - wasn't 100% sure that I'd selected the right category as they don't specifically mention SIBs, one quick phone call to a very friendly, helpful chappie and job done.

Also pleased that when the annual renewal came up, the premium had gone down! :thumbsup

:cheers

I phoned them up cause I prefer to speak to someone and the lady didn’t want to know, she just kept saying if you go on line, I explained I don’t much like doing it on line I prefer speaking to someone & she-ended up getting a bit aggressive so I gave up.

This is the first time I've heard or read any negative feed-back about them :o
I've called them 5-6 times over the years and they've always been extremely helpful :D ....... admittedly I've never spoken to any female staff

If you're solely wanting to talk to someone then PM PeterM on the forum (you met him whilst boating the other week) and he'll sort you out with insurance :thumbsup
:cheers

:thud jeeez, that’s not good Mitch. I’ve never heard of anyone having an issue previously.
I’ve only ever spoken to a chap and had an easy resolve, perhaps she’s new?

If you're wanting a reputable company you can talk to, and don’t fancy dealing with craftinsure..
give Peter M (member on here) a shout.. he works in insurance and is very well recommended throughout the rib community.

Just insured the rib at Craftinsure. The rib and engine are new, so I wanted fully comp. The website came back for the rib and motor at £178 fully comp, this was £70 more than another company. I figured that this was a blip in their system due to the rib insurance details being very generic and not specific to my boat. I phoned them up and spoke to Mark Lee, he explained that my rib could be insured under the small boat class (£66.84). However because of the 20hp motor size the speed would be in excess of 23 knots, which was the limit for that class. There would be an additional liability charge. Bottom line was fully comp insurance for £93.70. :thumbsup Very happy with that :clappy and to recommend phoning for the best quote. :waterski
