Short Term Insurance

Post by DaveRolph » 14 Jan 2018, 11:37

Does anyone know anywhere that does short term insurance (like a month at a time or 6 months), with my track record of not getting out much as long as the boat is insured when at home it seems mad to insure for a full year when it only gets used once or twice.

My Honwave set up cost me about £50 for year, so it’s not really much even if left in garage most of time :thumbsup

And the boat insurance will cover theft from your garage, where your house insurance might not cover the Sib.

I’m an all year insurer too, for the small annual fee I really don’t think it’s worth dropping the cover to save a few quid.
Should the worse happen, at least I know I’m insured.

All my gear now lives inside, it use to live outside.
I still insure for the whole year. If anything happens to my gear, I will need the insurance otherwise I'm out of the boating game for a long time.

Thanks all, can someone fix my type was supposed to say Short Term, I guess it kind of does LOL.

My wife insured last year and said she thought it was £20 a month, £50 a year is more like it so no point in messing about.

I will re-read the insurers details in this same area.

Dave
Craftinsure have a few of us FRIB owners on their books now so are familiar with the craft ;-)
I was one of the first owners to ring them directly to explain the concept of it being a rib/fold up sib ..... they were very helpful and said it would still fit the small motor boats criteria :D
You can insure online instantly or if you're unsure phone them :thumbsup

I’d strongly advise ringing them and double check the speed limit for the category your Frib sits in.
I had to pay a little more and have the policy marked up as exceeding 30mph if I recall correctly.
