We get strong winds (18-25 Kts) that can chop up the large fetch of the main area. There are probably hundreds to thousands of boats (30-50ft) heading up and down on weekends. So, chop and large wakes to probably 1m . So I am looking at larger "rubber ducky" for simple running about, after having several types of boats in the past.
There are plenty of spots up and down where one can stop for a picnic or barbie.(yay!)
Also vineyards and restaurants. (hrrhrhhr) 
We have 3 medium dogs, so we need a bit of room.
I have had lots of casual boating experience, from river to coastal, in boats from kayaks and a Moth to a 23' catamaran.
