Hi All,
Came across this forum while browsing for slipways in Nottingham. I have a Honda Honwave T35 with a HONDA 20hp. I know the outboard is a bit too powerful for the rivers and canals but mostly used mine on the sea in Devon as we have a Caravan down there. They no longer allow Boats and jet skis on site so have to book in at the marina and then find a place to store the trailer so can be more hassle if only going for a long weekend. We have been on the canal a couple of times from sawley marina, would be nice to be able to get on the river without having to navigate loads of locks. Was looking at farndon marina to visit sometime, looks nice and think you can travel quite far and explore without going through any locks. I’ll post some pics soon. Is there anyone still going out or on the river/canal of packed away and finished until next year? Speak soon 👍

Hi Mac, welcome aboard. :welcome
I can’t help with your specific question, not being around those parts …

The Honwaves are cracking sibs, we’ve many happy Honwave owners in here.

Enjoy the forum

Martin :cheers

Hi Mac, welcome to the forum. Nice rig you have there.
We often launch at Farndon, especially over winter to get our water fix. Nice easy slip, £20 fee to use and park, with a decent stretch of water without going through any pesky locks. Upstream to Fiskerton, back downstream to Newark and return to Farndon gives a 14 mile or so round trip. There is also a free slip, canal key required for barrier, at the nearby Riverside pub just upstream from the marina.

Hi Harrison,
Thanks for this and the Info, sounds good.
Do you have to show your boat insurance and river license to use the slip.

Thanks again for the info 👍

No, you don’t need to show either to use the slip. In fact never even be asked for our river licence except when using a manned lock. Keep a weather eye open for the river police if going for a cheeky high speed blast….usually in an orange rib.
Have a good trip. 👍
