Hello All. I bought a Takacat 340LX 4 years ago & put a Suzi DF6 on it. It's ok for pootling up & down rivers but not much else. I read that a finer pitch prop may improve performance to the 7" is getting swapped for a 6" this weekend. On the drawing board (CAD) is a bench seat/dry compartment for those moments when the deck floods!
BTW - anyone got a Tohatsu 9.8 2T for sale?

Cheers!

Hi and welcome - almost feel like a newbie here myself - been so long since I visited! Caravanning and other holidays got in the way of boating.
Have fun on here, you'll find lots of answers here - some you won't like - but they'll be honest ones lol.
Good luck in your search for Hen's teeth ;-)

Hi & yes indeed, Hen's teeth! I saw a bunch of Mariner 15hp 2 strokes on ebay recently & was tempted by the £1100 price tag. All gone now.
I was thinking there must be loads of these 9.8hp 2 strokes in the USA. Maybe it just needs some business minded person to look at shipping costs etc & if its viable take orders from us...

Hi there, mind of knowledge - may I ask what you think of the Orca 9.8 outboard and is the quality criticism fair?

I am pleased with the Orca 9.8, I have had no problem with it and still running great, They say you get what you pay for OK you got the brand names that are more expensive and probably in there own rights better but as said so far so good with the my Orca and very happy.
I am trying to upload a video being out on the river so you see what is like but at the moment having problems.

As with most things, a little TLC like cleaning and appropriate maintenance and all is well.
Good luck with the video, I 'm looking forward to it!
