No boat yet.

Post by Aaron » 10 Feb 2020, 17:25

Hello all.

Been trying to figure away to regularly get on the water for years. Hired boats until now but my main aim is to explore remote places (Scotland west coast for instance) and wild camp.

Adept at doing this on land but marine mobility will give me and family many more options. Donny Wilcox tempted me here from YouTube.

Glad to be of help so quickly on this forum. Not sure I have much else to offer as a novice!

There are some inspiring films on his channel. I find the one where he gives a tour of his red rib is hilarious. Reminds me of John Shuttleworth combined with Ivor Cutler.

Welcome Aaron, from another disciple of Donny Wilcox aka The Gurnard, whose videos originally inspired me to venture out on the Firth of Forth and also led me here back in 2015.

Scotland's west coast is ideal for what you have in mind, if you haven't already seen them then search on here for videos from the various Wild West Adventures centred around the Oban area, organised by and participated in by members of this forum.

Sing out if you need any help on locations or choosing kit, there are loads of experienced folk on here who'll be more than happy to offer advice.
cheers
Roger

Roger thanks for the welcome and the Wild West Adventures tip. Ill take a look tonight in front of the fire while the storm rages outside. Winter is about the only time I manage to watch TV/Youtube.
