Hi
I have just come across this site thanks to a recommendation from Ribnet. We are Martyn and Ann and come from Oxfordshire.
We have been into boating of some form or other for almost 40 years, firstly Sailing, then Windsurfing followed by some fairly large Ribs
but have now downsized now to a Sib which we can carry in our Camper Towcar. At present we have a FRIB powered by a 15hp Suzuki 2 stroke but
I recently bought a 10 year old Bombard Aerotec which despite its age seems in A1 Condition. It will be interesting to cneck it out against The FRIB
using the same engine!
We normally frequent The Solent(Calshot and Chichester) but have been to Falmouth a couple of times and have an annual holiday in Newport, Pembs
which is ideal for Sibbing. Hope to meet some fellow members out and about on the water.

Re: Hi
Welcome Martyn and Ann
Quite a few F-rib owners on here so you will be in good company. Lots of friendly and helpful people if you do need any advice and regular meetings for those who want to get together. I have just become an F-rib owner and cannot wait to get her out on the water, its been many years since I have done any boating.
Where abouts in Newport do you launch as people are always interested in new places to try.

Re: Hi
Hello Martyn & Ann..
Welcome to fribs & sibs
Hopefully you’ll find the site very informative for your sibbing and fribbing adventures, we’ve some great guys aboard and plenty of them down on the south coast.
Keep your eyes peeled on the events page for cruising in company.
It’ll be an interesting comparison between the Frib and bombard.
My experience of the bombard was surprisingly better than I expected, though I wouldn’t swap my Frib for one
Enjoy the forum

Re: Hi
PaulR we launch onto "The Parrog". At Newport - that's the Pembrokeshire Newport not the Gwent one! It's free to launch although it is a cobblestone slip - ideal for a Sib. In the past when we have had larger Ribs they have allowed us to moor in the Harbour £20 for the week!
