That’s a good speed from a 6hp motor. About right for an average sized person solo.
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Been out today and confirmed vmax 15.5 knots using a garmin gps map 60cs to confirm speed.
Would like a 9.9 but the 6 will do.

Replying to question above about Minn Kota motors.
I've a Minn Kota 55 fitted to 2.6m Bombard AX3 SIB with Aerotec floor and it will do 6km/h (3.7mph) at max thrust with two adults + 2 small teenagers on board, plus 2 duffle bags (approx 270kg load). I use a 105Ah 12v AGM fully sealed 'leisure battery', which gives it good range. It will run for 1.5hr to 3hrs deoending on how much you use top speed. The motor weighs about 10kg and the battery 25kg (lithium batts used by expert fisherman can be built to similar capacity weighing in at only 8kg!, and use same cells as Tesla cars). Very happy with it for cruising scenic stretches of river in silence (main noise is bubbling thrust water from prop), very green with no exhaust fumes. The Minn Kota spec it says it uses 50amps, but this is only the worst case peak, if something gets caught on your prop. In normal running at max speed it draws 30Amps so range is much better than you think. At the next speed down from top (5 speeds in total) it only draws 16Amps, so will run for long time, but this is much slower than the highest setting with the whole family aboard.
Really like it so far. Big advantage is very quick and clean to set up, no petrol/exhaust fumes or spark plug servicing and maintenance like petrol motor.
Very cheap running costs too.
You can also get very close to wildlife as they're not scared off by engine noise.. :-)
It's a very different experience to a petrol outboard... buy if you want to build up a relaxing low speed river/lake boat.
I'm planning my set up to have an 8 mile range... max trip so far is 5miles (with plenty of charge left).

Should also have said for my size boat with 4 passengers I personally wouldn't go for less than a 55lb thrust Minn Kota.
