A day out on Ullswater (Lake District) is a great place to start..
Launch at Pooley Bridge and you have free run of the whole lake.
10mph Speed limit applies, no need to register or anything at Ullswater.

Martin :cheers
Sounds good! 10mph should be plenty. So no registering licence, insurence or costs etc? Just arrive and get cruising? Can't resist that idea. :thumbsup is parking near a good launch area? Will google map it lol.

Might be the ideal start place. Cmon boat ! Should be any day this week i pick her up! Just waiting for the phone call :yay

I launch at Park Foot Campsite, Pooley Bridge.
It's £5 (i think) to park for the day and launch... Free if you're camping.

No legal need for insurance but going out without insurance is as dangerous on the water as it is on the road. :busted
Chop someone up with your prop and you may well end up eating porridge for a few years.. :no

We'd recommend craft insure for no frills sib insurance. :thumbsup

No need to register the sib for Ullswater, unlike the other lakes... Ullswater is Launch and go!
Take a good picnic with you and get yourself right up the end of the lake and back - It makes a great day out. :yay

Martin :cheers

Harrison out of interest as your local. Where do you launch from the most.? I need a nice large easy place to run in my new motor. I'm looking into Carsington water if allows motor boats but I'm not holding my breath

Very interested in any ride outs this year if one is organised :thumbsup
Goon,
Forget Carsington, that’s a no no.
We’re based up north with our main boat and keep the sib for forum jaunts only, which are generally on the south coast...Southampton/Poole area usual.

Keep an eye out on the forum for these...good fun.

Lovely looking setup. That’s going to go like the wind.
I see you are going to remove the wheels after launching or you won’t be able to turn the engine! Those webs at the side are a bit of a pain when it comes to launch wheels.
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.
