Inman or Sea Eagle SIB

Post by ColoradoFourWheeler » 25 Jun 2019, 13:17

I've been doing some preliminary checking for a future SIB as mine is getting on in age and if the stars align I might replace it in the next couple of years and have found a couple of boats that are 4.2 meter boats like I have now that can handle my 25HP motor. One brand I've heard of before, Sea Eagle, they are used quite a lot by police and fire rescue and are considered pretty good boats. There's also one I've never heard of before but seem to be pretty good called Inmar boats. Has anyone had any experience in either of these brands and can make a recommendation? Price wise they are both comparable at $2500 US (£1963) each.

Hello Colorado 4 wheeler
Hotairdrifter from northern Michigan
Just bought me a (new) SeaEagle 10.5 Sport runabout and 1st inflatable...in August this year, have only had it out on two short trips due to a very windy summer.
Wanted to try it out with my Evinrude 9.5 two stroke n was very pleased on how the Sea Eagle handled in a mildly moderate chop, 2nd time out a little calmer water n GPS it at 19 mph.
Have had nothing bad to say other than response from SeaEagle is slow although they say this up front due to demand. A good thing !! As well as some on this site and another say the same thing....seems as though the inflatable world is rocking right along. Took me nearly a month after arrival to fiddle with it (high winds) and completely disassemble a trailer my son in law gave me, sand blast n repaint to match the colors.
Did alot of research on inflatable boats n felt this was the best bang 4 the $$, and after receiving it I am sure of it. No complaints from me.
Just wanted something I could easily handle alone.
Good luck on your decision n I'll be following your posts to see n hear about your adventures.
From Northern Michigan to Colorado, have a good one.
ImageBeautiful state by the way, our daughter n family live there in Westminester.

I like your boar and the folding seat, I have a folding seat the same but have found it to be not too stable on my bench seat which is only one runner where you have two runners and fixed between both.

You say you have only been out a couple of times but do you find having the seat fixed between two runners and seat being double the width it is more stable and does not rock around too much when motoring along.
Look forward to your opinion
