Yamaha 330s inflation valve

A sib is a soft floor inflatable boat that will roll up and fit into a bag to ease with carrying or storage.
There are many different floor designs, exampoles include - Air floor mat, Wooden/Metal boards over an Inflatable Keel or a High Pressure V Floor.

Yamaha 330s inflation valve

Post by SibFisherRy » 12 Oct 2018, 10:22

:help :help :help

I have just Brought my second Sib, I had the Yam 250 but needed something bigger. The valve seems to be leaking on this 330, any ideas on how to repair this or tips on buying and installing a new valve.

Thanks in advance, Ryan

Often if you tighten up the valve with a valve spanner it stops leaking. If that doesn't work remove and reseat the valve (but don't drop the inside bit down into the tubes)

I'm currently doing this with a small SIB.. and have found that some valves have different spanner fixings ... :( , and the cheap spanners from China , are OK , but I snapped one already doing one valve up tight :( .

If you need to replace a full vavle unit , getting the old one out and the new one in can split the fabric as they generally are fitted from inside while the tube is still open, then you are into gluing on a new valve backer (effectively doubling up the fabric thinkness) .....
