I have the trim pin one hole away from being completely vertical if that makes sense. Not sure if this means its trimmed in or out :scratch
Thanks for the info. :thumbsup Going to assume your running one hole out from nearest the transom then. I’d call that position 2 and also say that’s trimmed quite far in...all depends on transom angle though.
Yep, position 2 it is then. I've never tried 3 and 4...maybe I should..it might go even better :D

Yeah, definitely worth a try. :thumbsup

Keep trimming out one hole at a time till prop loses grip, then trim back in one notch.

Think our Suzuki ran well on notch 3 and 4 on both our Zodiac and Aerotec boats.

Well for the first time I got the Cavitation issue and could not get on the plane. It was with the T38 with me and her indoors in it and the 9.8 hp Tohatsu 2 stroke........ It was fine going one way but later massive cavitation. I put the trim from position 2 to trimmed in all the way at position 1 and all was OK

First time it has ever happened to me..... Most odd

Hey - thinking of a Mariner 20hp EFI 2019 model.

Does anyone have one and di they ventilate a lot with the t38 air deck.

Worried about them as it's a good engine but concerned about the length.

@harrison has that setup. It does ventilate a bit but if you trim it in it runs fine.
Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Yeah well summed up Chris....”it does ventilate a bit but if you trim it in it runs fine”.

Would I recommend running a current Merc/Mariner 20 on a T38......No

Excessive ventilation more a foible of the hull rather than the motor, but they just don’t work that well together. Motors with a longer leg and larger AV plates perform more consistently .... like the Suzi 20

All well documented in this and other threads.
