Itiwit Electric Pump, anyone using one?

A sib is a soft floor inflatable boat that will roll up and fit into a bag to ease with carrying or storage.
There are many different floor designs, exampoles include - Air floor mat, Wooden/Metal boards over an Inflatable Keel or a High Pressure V Floor.

Do you run it off the car accessory socket, or from a small lead acid battery? @DumperDriver was asking what size battery would be needed with the itiwit.

The Itiwit comes with a car plug but then the car needs to be near. I therefore made up a wire (with a plug so I can return it to the car accessory port) with two largish clips on the end to clip on a battery. I would say you need more than a 7 ah battery so a small car battery with a handle would work well.

Something like this would do the job well and will be useful for other things

Youd be better buying a leisure battery than a car battery, as they are made to be run flat and are charged multiple times, unlike a car battery

But they tend to be larger and heavier but here is a 50 ah one for £40

You won’t run a car battery flat in a hurry using a pump, so I wouldn’t worry about buying a leisure battery - just don’t let it go flat! 😊

I believe you should not discharge a car starting battery below 75 percent full, and a deep discharge leisure battery below 40 percent full if you wish to prevent damage to the battery.

What I'm not sure of, is if the small 7ah lead acid batteries we are all using have the characteristics of a starting battery or a leisure battery, I suspect the later.

You can get too carried away with the theory of all this battery stuff..... They are not that expensive so if you charge it up after each use it will be fine....

The 7 Amp hour batteries are just a little small for the T38 particularly the air floor will make it struggle

I’ve pumped my T38 up from a 4.4ah 3 cell lithium pack. I get one and a half inflations.
I normally use a 20ah 13.6v battery and that is perfect.

I used my new Itiwit on the FRIB275 this evening. Full inflation in around 10 minutes I suppose although I was having to think outside the box due to the lack of a specific adapter for the FRIB valve. The pump jumped around the bottom of the boat like some sort of demented jumping bean unless I found something suitable for the suckers/feet to adhere themselves to. Overall, I’m impressed - it seems like a good bit of kit.

I’ve got one of these which I used to power it:

Power for days and a handy built in light for when you’ve misjudged sunset.

I also have a ring power pack, I bought the inverter version a few years back to replace my old 12/24 v model.
Had my previous one for about 15years before it gave up the ghost.
