Extra seat for T38
HI,
Thought I'd share this pic. Just bought a T38, and had one trip in it, and thought another seat would be useful, especially as I want to add rod holders/fishfinder etc. and didn't want to drill in to the original HW seat. Made from ply, near match in colour and seat clips off ebay.....

Not showing pic, not sure how to load. Easier to make the seat than to load the pic!

Hi!
To add pics make sure you are in the full editor (not the quick reply box) and select “Attachments” from the bottom of the page, just below the submit button. Add your images there.
Cheers, Chris

Not a complete idiot - some parts are missing.

Re: Extra seat for T38
Hi Sonny,
The seat clips were £12, ply for free, and a pot of exterior wood paint. Routed the top edge for effect. Weighs about the same as the original. I was surprised at the cost of the H/wave replacement seat.... I'll put the saving towards a fish finder.

Nice. I like the routing detail.
I did mine with exterior wood paint (Dulux Weathershield) and I'm slightly concerned with how soft it still feels. Circumstances have kept me off the water recently, but I worry about how durable the finish will be on mine.

Same here. Thought I'd use the proper paint etc. but it's still rather soft, not hardened, and I'm not sure how robust the finish will be. Just checked the tin, it's Dulux Weathershield dove grey. The paint was the most expensive bit...

Re: Extra seat for T38
Yeah that's the one I used. Dove Slate or something. Wonder if the tackiness is part of the design to ward off the elements.
Be wary of what you lean it against. I left mine touching some of that rubbery non-slip matting and they decided to bond like glue.
I painted my seat, a couple of pieces to make a removable bracket for plotter and phone and painted the wooden parts of a transducer bracket and I still dare not leave them touching each other for fear they'll stick together.
