Ranieri

As probably the only Ranieri owner on the forum I thought it would be good to share a few pics to give the Italian brand some coverage. It's been good looking at 9-R's Boston Whaler which could have been another option for us.
Some models have a racing design 'high pressure' stepped hull designed to draw air and reduce drag. Read more here:

Sadly it's not ours whose story is described in 'the darkside' part of the forum. We were in a kayak next to this one in the Salcombe estuary and ours is a restoration project. Gotta give em some TLC right?

If the engine is still driving the standard 21" prop it will top out at 6000rpm doing 39kn (45mph). 41.5kn with 0% prop slip.

I'm updating the darkside thread as work gets done.
At the moment there are two Ranieri 15's for sale by a dealer in South Wales, and another is coming up in the spring by one of the Reddish Marine guys. They are quite rare, don't come up very often then several come up together! When my trailer is finished I'll get it on the local weighbridge.

Here's some pics of the South Wales one. The max is 77hp and 120kg engine weight for the 15' (4.55m). Ranieri have a deeper V than a Boston Whaler so slam less in a chop apparently. Can't wait to try it out.

Here's the older South Wales Ranieri 15:
Revolution 15's are still in production, but only made to order.

The actual weight of the Ranieri Voyager 450 (identical mold to the earlier Revolution 15) is 300kg without engine which can weigh up to 120kg, enough for a Yamaha 70. Other makes are heavier so only 60hp with those.

Here's a very clean example of a 2007 Voyager 17 with 147hrs on the 2005 70hp engine. It recently sold from Portsmouth for £14K, somewhat underpriced I feel.

Forerunner to the Voyager 17, here's an old 2001 17ft Azzura currently for sale in Kingsbridge. Mutton dressed as lamb and overpriced at £12,495, it's a trader selling so maybe some wiggle room for a deal.

They've added Seadek and put the latest graphics on the sides (mispositioned I might add), they also replaced a damaged helm seat for new.

Anti-foul always looks horrible, it must have been moored on water, glad mine's not been done. It's practically irreversible with effort and much expense.

75hp two stroke really ages the craft. At least the absence of Hypalon means it's still got plenty of life left for a twenty year old boat. Repower it with a four stroke and it it would be hard to date with the untrained eye.

Assessed that one wrong. Saltstone Boats sold it after just a few days and out of season and during a pandemic lockdown. Give me some of that Seadek lol.
