Yes, I'd rather preserve the F-Ribs And Sibs forum from thread spoiling and move forward by uploading all images directly to the forum in the future. I realise some members may no longer post images if this action is implemented but moving on it will preserve the forum for the future.

I read (and post) to the forum exclusively via the tapatalk app. So I guess that means my photos are hosted externally, not on the site.

Removing the ability to use tapatalk would be a big step backwards in my opinion.

Hi Chris,
Tapatalk is an integrated app that works within the forum software, It isn't a photo hosting website so it shouldn't be affected by any changes we may make. :thumbsup

If you could respond to this message from your app and post any image too via the tapatalk app i can then check it's compatibility.

Thanks,
Admin.

A bit too technical for me guys TBH.
I'm more of a strait from source orientated.
I do see the merits of linking to YouTube as the last few Vids The Gurnard has posted have not linked from F & S directly from my android phone.
After seeing msgs "This link is not supported" on my android phone ive searched and found The Gurnard's vids direct on YouTube.

That's an interesting and valid point and great to get feedback like this so Martin and I can hopefully fix it :thumbsup
I tried to view The Gurnards last video on my smart-ass flat screen TV and it wouldn't play :(
I suspect since YouTube changed their URL's for Embedded videos, my TV and your Android phone need updates to access them
Perhaps these updates may not be available for our given equipment :( meanwhile we've been leaving the URL and posting the Embedded video below it so the viewer has a choice how to view it, removing the hassle searching YouTube for it

Here's an example:

Kaman, :thumbsup
Paul made me aware of this today, I run all iOS/OS X at home these days and it all works fine for me so I didn't know there was an issue.
As Paul says, we'll look into it and see if we can sort something out.
Thanks for pointing it out.

As always guys, if something doesn't work or images don't display, then please use the report button to highlight it to admin/mods, or for error codes please screen shot and email to us so we can then hopefully rectify issues that we are unaware of.

Cheers,
Martin :cheers

Im a bit lost now guys ..as I don’t understand what is happening ? :?

I just copy the UTube address from my UTube channel and paste it between the Utube button link that I have in this forum. It works for me?

Would it help if I post a link on here to my UTube channel when I post a new video ? ..so folks go to “my channel” from here if they want to see them ?

Example .."my channel" on Utube is here .. I think ?

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdWRzt ... Hz-OqGTVag

Then I could post something like “ Part 2 of Loch Laxford to Handa is now uploaded” etc
It would save broken links upsetting the site.

I also still have my Inflatable Boat Journey Site ..Google own Picasa which hosts the photos for it. Would it be easier if I restarted that website and link to it for photos ?

http://inflatableboatjourneys.blogspot.co.uk/

Im only trying to make things work for everyone .. I have over 3500 views on the UTube site but only a small number from here and I think some have subscribed anyhoo..so will know when there is new stuff added.

I took the counter down from my Inflatable boat site a few years ago..but it had well over a million hits back then. That was in 2013 when I last used it. I should perhaps start using it again if it solves the problem ?

The last thing I want to do is upset folks or have links break. If you can give me some feedback ..it will help me know what to do. :thumbsup

Ello Donny' :wavey
I wouldn't start changing anything buddy to be honest, once you start changing things we can't find the cause. If we can't find the cause then it'll happen again...

We'll look into it asap and get the situation fixed to the best of our capabilities.
Youtube did some updates some time ago, those updates appear to be effecting some users but then not others .... Weird :scratch

You get masses of traffic to your youtube channel through our facebook page and the forum, perhaps people don't subscribe to you because they just follow the links from here. I can pull figures if you need them, But to give you an insight, the last facebook post i did pointing people to your video only achieved 200 + hits, but generally when i repost later as you add the video's and pictures each post then hits over 1000 views.
Limiting publicity links to your channels/pages will possibly reduce your traffic.. :LMT (hope that helps ?)
