Menai Straits and the swellies !

Post by nala » 28 May 2018, 22:11

Took the Excel Volaire 390 out today on a fishing trip in the The Menai Straits and Swellies !
The bloom was present but managed a doggie and herring :O !
Not for the faint hearted with wind against 8knots of total flow !
Plenty of shallow and exposed rocks

Looks good. Very keen to go fishing myself around there. Especially abermenai point. I have my power boat level 2 in a few weeks. See how I feel about it all then. Does the slip parking only flood on a spring out of interest ?

Apologies for delay in reply, yes it floods almost to the road on the springs !
You'd have to do the low neap tides to be safe.
As some time ago some tourists in a camper van stayed there over night !!!! They were awoken by water lapping in their faces then an RNLI rescue through their van window !! If the surrounding stones weren't there they would have floated away !
Who knows only what the outcome would have been.
