14th June, Sunday On The Solent

Hi Guys,
We had a couple of threads / topics on the go so I thought I would start a new one specifically for this sunday.
I can play in the morning, so in order to make a good start I would like to be down at Warsash by 9 and on the water around half past.
What sorts of times were other people thinking?
If we are all launching from different places at different times, perhaps we should set some rendezvous co-ordinates and a suitable time.

Hi guys, I'm still hoping Paul is going to be able to join us.(Has been unwell so not certain) If so then we will launch at Hythe at 10 am . If Paul drops out then I can come over to Warsash as that would make sense.

I’ll be leaving from Swanwick around 08:30 - 09:00 so will catch you up on my way out of the Hamble. Ch72 vhf? My call sign for the 540 is ‘whistler’.

Excellent. Sounds like you will be around Warsash about when we are launching.

I’m going to bring a cool bag with some food etc as I’m not sure any of the chippys will be open anywhere?

I will bring some snacks - not expecting to be able to buy anything.

What's the sea state likely to be? I saw it was predicting 10mph or so of wind. And what sort of time would folk head back? It's not high tide again until the evening. Can you still recover at Warsash at lower tide? If you can I bet that would be a long haul up the slip.

In many ways low tide is easier to recover at warsash - just drive into the slip and pack up into the car.
The sea state should be ok, the tide will be running with the wind in the east Solent and the island will offer some protection close to.

Tempted to bring little ‘stumpy’ the 340 down for it’s inaugural sea trials. Conditions a bit marginal at the mo for such a tiny hard hull but I’ll keep a beady eye on them, and make a decision laters. Also, with a such long journey, a tad early for me but hey ho, can live with that.
One for the locals...will Warsash slip be ridiculously busy on a post lockdown Sunday??
